This fella has been hanging around in the yard lately, isn't he glorious?! I was finally able to snap a picture of him. Hopefully I'll have the opportunity to photograph the rest of the family. The fawns look so sweet.

Work In Progress - Dress (part 1)

Here are some shots of the project that I am currently working on. So far, I'm really happy with the way it's coming along. Although, I will use a slightly different technique when I make the next one. Here, at the coast, the paper mache takes so long to dry, and requires so many layers on a structure this large. Next time, I think I will use fabric dipped in plaster for some of the layers. I was happy to use all that junk mail though. And the cost of materials couldn't be beat.

I'm excited to get going with the painting part of the project. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do, but then I never really am, I like to keep it rather spontaneous. I know that I want to make sure it stays arty and not cutesy, I have a real thing about my work looking cute - hate that! I think there is a fine line, since the piece is so feminine. Paint drips seem like a good grungy first step. I will show you more pictures as the process continues. 

A Bit Of Zen & Gratitude

I saw these wonderful murals at, of all places, a car wash in Los Angeles. I wish I knew the name of the artist, but unfortunately I don't. Aren't they wonderful? Their faces are so beautiful.
I also wanted to say thank you to Heather over at the beautiful blog Gathering Spriggs. I'm thrilled that she included my Lace and Light photo on the blog. I am really feelin' the blogosphere love this week, and I am so thankful.

I'm on Simply Hue & A Happy Birthday

Hi, I'm back. I told you it would be a quick trip.
Today, Vicki, over at Simply Hue (a most beautiful blog, by the way), featured my photo of the paper lanterns on post about the Creative Challenge Group over on Flickr. I was so flattered that she picked my picture to be included in this lovely collection of photos. Thanks Vicki.
Today is also my girls birthday. Nichole is no longer a teenager (hooray!).
