I love thistles!
I'm going camping this weekend, hooray! I can't wait. Its been too long since I last went camping. We are going to be right by the ocean, I can smell that salty air already. I'm off to pack-up. Have a wonderful weekend everybody. Happy (almost) Birthday Carol and Alana! See ya at camp!

Home Sweet Home

I'm back home. I love to go off on adventures but I love to come back home too. I mentioned that I was going to be staying in a 4 star hotel, and it was very nice. They have a Maxfield Parrish Painting hanging in the Pied Piper Bar and I loved staring at that for awhile. The Garden Court is totally grand and spectacular! The Palace Hotel really is a little slice of San Francisco history.
Then I came home. The contrast made me laugh so hard. Here is a picture of what awaited me back at the ole homestead. Yes, that is a giant slug investigating our roll of TP.
Ahhhh, home sweet home.

More From The Neon Boneyard

Here are some more pictures that I took at the Neon Boneyard, in Las Vegas.

There is one more group of pictures, from the Boneyard, that I might post. They are close up views of letters, peeling paint, and general patina. Kind of fun, in an abstract sort of way. Wanna see them?
I would like to get married in Las Vegas, just so I could have wedding photos taken in the Boneyard. Wouldn't that be cool (only in the winter! ha ha)?

Here's Some Vegas Baby

I am still feeling very  blah, so the Las Vegas pics are going to come to you very slowly. Here are a few. The first two, I took at the Venetian, while window shopping. The last one is from our trip to the Neon Boneyard. Unfortunately it was closed, but we were able to see quite a bit through the fence. It was so cool! I have a whole bunch of really interesting Boneyard photos to share.
I have a fun little Guerrilla project to do tomorrow, I can't wait to show you!

Journey

I'm off to Las Vegas. I can't wait to spend time with my family, take pictures, and play. I'll be back in a few days. Big hugs.

Kyoto Grand Hotel

The first night in Los Angeles, I stayed at the Kyoto Grand Hotel. What a beautiful hotel. They have a lovely rooftop garden too. Here are some pictures that I took at the hotel.

The rest of my stay was spent in far more modest accommodations, but that first night I was stylin'. I would highly recommend it.

Off I Go

I'm on my way to Los Angeles. I believe it will be about a 13 hour drive. As I mentioned before, I will be at the Beckman Show, at the LA Mart, booth # 427. If you are attending the gift show, please stop by and say hi. I have prepared a few posts, in advance, so you will have some new things to look at, and read about. I hope you enjoy them.
One of the places I hope to visit, if I have time, is Olvera Street. That place is some touristy good fun.

So, I'm off. I hope to have lot's of great stories to share, when I return. Bye for now.

Can We Talk?

I mean no disrespect, but I couldn't find a lot of things to do in Dallas. I've never been to a big city with so few people walking on the streets. Where was everyone? I know it was hot, but still, where'd everybody go? Even the concierge at the hotel wasn't exactly brimming over with suggestions. So sad, the museum was closed on the day I had available for exploring. I had a great vegan pizza though, which in my opinion, is always a sign of a great city. Thanks to the guys at The Pizza Lounge, who went the extra mile, and delivered it to the hotel and saved my aching feeties. Yummy, cheesy, veggie goodness. The people I met were delightful. You Dallas Folk are a friendly bunch. But honestly, what do you guys do around here? Next time, I'm asking for suggestions before I go.
