Playing With Frida

I'm working hard these days. I want to open another Etsy shop (I will definitely let you know when it's open) that has my art and images on clothing and other stuff. This morning I've been playing with an image of Frida Kahlo . I love her art and her style. I have this idea to print this image (on tee shirts and other stuff) and then add random, crazy-sewn, fabric scraps as "flowers" in her hair. Inside my head it looks really cool. I'm really happy with the way this image came along, I played with it for about an hour trying to get it just the way I wanted it. What do you think? I'd love some feedback on this idea. Wouldn't it be fun on a little onesie?

Now, for the meatless part. I wanted to let all the local veggies that the Caspar Community Center has an amazing breakfast on the fourth Friday of the month, and to make it even better they always serve a vegan option, hooray! I went yesterday, and it was so delicious! I can't wait for next month. Next time, I'm taking my camera, because it really was a feast for the eyes, as well as the mouth.

Cyber Monday - Coupon Code

To show my appreciation to all my readers I wanted to give you something on this Cyber Monday. This is supposed to be the busiest shopping day of the year, online. Are any of you doing any cyber purchasing today? I think I might partake a bit. It is so much easier than struggling with the crowds, and I love to support the little guys, like the folks on Etsy.
To say thank you for all your support, I give you, my readers, this special savings coupon. When making a purchase at the Gilding Lilies Etsy Store enter the coupon code HAPPYHOLIDAYS2010 and receive 10% off your purchase. The code will be good through the end of the year.
Enjoy, happy holidays, and thanks for your support and patronage, it really means so much to me!

Gift Certificates

I've been creating some gift certificates for the ole Etsy shop. Here is one making its way through the sewing machine.

I have pre-made certificates in $20, $40, and $100 amounts. Or, they can be made in any amount you might want. They can even be purchased "e" style, so you can print them yourself, or email them. Attention last minute shoppers (I'm not naming any names or anything) I'm talkin' to you!
Here is one post sewing machine.

2011 Calenders

I added the ever so special Gilding Lilies 2011 Calender to my Etsy shop today. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I hope you like it too.
Here is the official shpeel. It features 12 of my favorite images. It's professionally printed on luster finish photographic paper, so that the photos will maintain their beautiful detail and color for years to come. Making them suitable for framing after you enjoy them as a calender. Just snip off the calender portion of the print, once the month has passed, and you have twelve 5 X 5 inch works of art for framing or giving.

The twelve prints arrive unbound. Each month you can hang it on your inspiration boards or frig. Tuck it into your planner. Display it in a frame on your counter or desk. Clip them together and hang them anywhere. The possibilities are endless!
I think they would make wonderful and unique gifts too. Click on the link on the sidebar to go visit the Gilding Lilies Etsy Shop, and look in the Miscellaneous section to find these little beauties.
Thanks for humoring me during this obviously shameless promotion.
And Heeeere they are...

Sorry, no Ginsu knives included. But wait, there's more...
No, not really, that's it.
And now, back to my regular scheduled blogging.

Words On Wednesday

Have I mentioned lately how much I love this time of year? Autumn is my season. The other morning I took my little Abby Dog out for her morning walk in the yard. It was so lovely and peaceful. Everything was covered in dew, and it looked all twinkly and white. The air was filled with mist, and it was so quiet. I looked down and saw these pretty little weeds decorated with drops of moisture on a million tiny tips. It was breathtaking. I plucked one, brought it inside, placed it on a vintage dictionary page I happened to have on the table (my life is a giant collage, what can I say?), and snapped this picture. Now, every time I look at this photo I remember that lovely fall morning, and I think of how much I love this time of year.

New on Etsy

This was my first time making a glass tile pendant. It's quite easy, and I'm thrilled with the way it turned out. I'm pretty sure everything looks better under glass. This image is also part of the Time Flies Series that will be available for download, on Etsy, so you can make your own pendants, if you'd like to. I'll be sharing some of the other images soon. I had so much fun creating them!  To purchase this necklace visit Gilding Lilies On Etsy.
