Not The Average Meatless Monday Recipe - Flax Seed Curling Gel

I have a riot of long red curls. Some days they are beautiful, but on a bad hair day...Well, you get the idea. With that much volume it can get a bit crazy and frizzy. The other day I came across a recipe for a Flax Seed Curling Spray, and I decided to give it a try, and I really like it! You bring one cup of water to a boil, then you reduce the heat to a simmer, and add 2 tablespoons on flax seeds. Simmer for 10 minutes, then drain the seeds out of the gel that has formed. Next time, I'm going to try putting the seeds in a cheese cloth pouch so that I don't have to strain it. Allow it to cool, and pour it into a bottle. You can keep it for about a week in the fridge.
To use it, just pour a small amount of the gel into your hands, rub it around, and apply to damp hair. Style as usual. It feels healthy, soft, and not at all "crunchy". It really helps the curls get along, stay together, and fights frizz. Good stuff!

Jennifer, i am a retired hair designer and if you have a Sally's Beauty supply store near you, go there and buy a tube or a jar of Vitapoint Hair shine cream. this cream will not only make your hair look shiny and smooth and you can say goodbye to the frizzes. This cream will make your hair look so beautiful. if you blow dry or press your curls straight it will be perfect for that. My grand-daughter has hair like you and her curls look great after she applys this cream to her hair. Be careful not to use too much because it will look greasy. Just rub a nickle size amount on your hands and rub it well before putting it on your ends and hair. If you do not have a Sally's near you, search Sally's Beauty Supply on the internet. You can order it there. Let me know how you like it. HUGS!

As labor intensive as this sounds, I might have to give it a whirl. If my curls/waves can live in peace it's worth it... because I'm worth it ;)
Your hair is great!

I have chronically straight hair - but always wish for a few curls.

Thanks for the info Millie. I don't have a Sally's around here, put I will check it out, and let you know how it goes.
GiGi, thanks for the compliment.
Jamie, sometimes I wish for straight hair like yours. Go figure!

Jennifer,

You can double or triple your coupons if the coupon states it. : Some coupons will say 4 like coupons can be added together. This is an example only... if you have a coupon tha states you must buy 2 to get lets say a 1.00 off then you can add 2 more coupons of this same product if the other coupon states you can take off .35 cents on one. This is okay because yu are usin one coupon per item plus a coupon that unites both items (2). If your stores doubles up to .99 cents than that .35 cent coupon becomes .70 cents, that's $1.40 affed to that 1.00 dollars. So you saved 2.40 cents on those 2 items.

Couponing is simple but it does requires a lot of attention and time. I devote 4 hours a day to couponing. on Mondays I spend 8 hours to it becaue this is the day I raid the newspaper bin. I get my coupons from newspaper bins by large quantities. Cutting them out takes me sometimes 6 hours. I cut out only the coupons I like and can use, and the other coupons I exchange them in our monthly coupon meetings. Five of us church girls unite on the first thursday of every month to exhange coupons and who ever is in charge of conducting the meeting that month gives a short lesson on couponing along with the sales we can target that month.

Today i went to Kmart because they have Phillps Sonicare Electric toothbrushes (reguarly $49.00 dollars a piece) on sale for $24.99. I had (2) 25.00 dollars off coupons on these tooth brush. With my 2 coupons I got both of them for free; plus I have (2) $20.00 rebate for these tooth brushes. Not only did I get them free but I am also going to get $40.00 dollars back in the mail. I saved
$100.00 dollars and I will make an extra 40.00 with my rebate. My girlfriend had 4 of these 25.00 dollar coupons and after getting them for free, she put them on ebay and she sold them in 4 minutes for 40.00 dollars a piece. A 100% savings and a great profit in return.

I also had (3) $10.00 dollar coupons for the kids electric tooth brushes. They are reguraly $29.00 doolars each but this week they are 12.99 a piece at Kmart. with my (3) 10.00 dollar off coupons I paid less than $10 dollars for all three of them. A 50.00 dollar savings. Oh all of my tooth brushes are for Christmas presents. What a great gift for nothing.

Couponing is a business if you only devote the time. From the phtos of my stock pile on my blog, it is now double the amunts as of the 1st of this month. and most of it was 80% off.
